E&C Engineer (contract)

Job Summary

Join our team to provide technical expertise in conservation programs aimed at helping Xcel Energy customers optimize their energy usage. As a key member of the team, you will offer guidance and recommendations to customers, sales staff, and marketing teams. Your role will involve developing specialized knowledge in technical areas to enhance customer benefits from Xcel Energy's conservation products.

- Provide technical support to Xcel Energy's Marketing and Sales departments.

- Execute daily engineering tasks within designated technical domains.

- Create analyses using technical-financial models compliant with state regulations and corporate standards.

- Build efficient analytical models following sound engineering principles and guidance from senior Technical Consulting staff.

- Learn job responsibilities, rules, and guidelines from experienced team members for assigned programs.

- Enhance and update Xcel Energy's technical expertise in specific areas related to gas or electric conservation programs (e.g., HVAC, lighting, compressed air).

- Cultivate relationships with external engineering firms, government bodies, industry associations, and research organizations to leverage internal knowledge for customer benefit.

- Adhere to project timelines to ensure timely customer engagement.

Qualifications

- Engineering degree from an ABET accredited school

- Experience energy efficiency regulated utilities

- Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics

- Excel proficiency

- Familiarity with Salesforce (preferred but trainable)
