- Mechanical engineering skills w/ a focus on HVAC and construction familiarity (including piping, electrical knowledge, equipment layout and testing and commissioning of new processes and equipment).

- Performs standard engineering, varied engineering, and previously performed tasks typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems and resolution of quality events.

- Machine design and manufacturing methods experience (Process equipment design, HVAC system design, Machining, Sheetmetal, Welding, Forming etc.) and familiarity with HVAC codes and standards: Example AG-1, ASME N509, ASME N510, ANSI13.1, WAC, SMACNA

- Performs standard engineering assignments with guidance from a mentor on most assignments and solutions. With support from senior engineers, evaluates, selects and applies a variety of technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making adaptations and modifications for tasks previously performed and special projects as assigned.

- Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data (meetings, email, presentations, customer deliverables) and is able to adapt with flexibility.

- Familiarity with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD

- Previous internship/co-op experience in field of study

You’ll join a team of diverse engineers to develop and demonstrate innovative solutions and value-added technologies focusing on supplying fuel, fuel components, and fabrication processes and facilities for next generation nuclear power plants. These solutions will ultimately be deployed into a new, state of the art, advanced reactor fuel fabrication facility designed and constructed at the Richland site. Richland is located in the Columbia River basin in southeastern Washington a few hours east of Seattle. Framatome’s Richland, WA facility is a licensed nuclear fuel manufacturing site and complies with US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and US Department of Energy (DOE) regulations. This position is safety-sensitive and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening is required. Any employment offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation.

The range of base salary for the position is between $77,968.80 - $92,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
