As a Driver Technician, you will represent Pinnacle Propane’s core values of Safety, Integrity, and Customer Service. This dual-role position combines safe propane delivery with technical service expertise, ensuring that our customers receive top-quality products and support. You will be responsible for operating company vehicles, delivering propane, installing and servicing tanks and lines, troubleshooting systems, and maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Safely load and deliver propane via bobtail truck to residential and commercial locations
- Fill customer tanks of all sizes, indoors and outdoors, ensuring accuracy and safety
- Set, repair, and maintain tanks and cylinders
- Install service lines to homes, equipment, or buildings per Federal, State, and Local regulations
- Perform leak tests and gas checks at customer sites
- Troubleshoot propane systems and appliances; convert and adjust as needed
- Operate company/service vehicles in accordance with DOT, company, and government regulations
- Maintain vehicles by performing pre- and post-trip inspections; ensure vehicles and equipment are secure, clean, and mechanically sound
- Complete all driver logs, work orders, maintenance records, and related documentation accurately and promptly
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers during all service and delivery interactions
- Work a flexible schedule, including after-hours and emergency callouts as needed
- Abide by all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Lift, carry, push or drag hoses and equipment up to 60 pounds
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of verifiable experience operating a Class B commercial motor vehicle (truck driving experience preferred)
- Valid Class B CDL with HazMat, Tanker, and Air Brakes endorsements (Class A or C accepted for delivery roles)
- No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, 2 in last 2 years, or 1 in the last year
- No more than 1 preventable/at-fault accident in the last 3 years, 2 in the last 5 years
- No DUI, reckless driving, hit & run, suspended licenses, etc. in the past 5 years
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing
- Must pass a criminal background check and maintain a good MVR
- Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English fluently
- Ability to operate in adverse weather conditions, including off-road
- Ability to abide by all DOT rules and regulations
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, manuals, and reports
- Ability to address inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community
- Team-oriented, safety-conscious, and dedicated to quality service
- Maintain cleanliness and perform minor maintenance on equipment; report deficiencies promptly
- Lift, carry, push, or drag equipment weighing up to 60 pounds
- Stand for extended periods
- Use fine motor skills for machinery and equipment operation
- Drive and operate company vehicles safely
- Comprehend instructions verbally and in writing
- Use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem-solving
