Coterra is hiring a Drilling & Completions Engineer in Midland, Texas
As a Drilling and Completions Engineer for Coterra, you will work as an integral part of developing company assets with a direct role in the planning and execution of all drilling and completion activities. You will be responsible for providing engineering support for daily drilling and completions activities, all while ensuring the quality, safety, and cost control of the operations. This position is located in our Midland, Texas office.
Generate procedures and plans for all activities associated with the drilling and completion of a well
Perform engineering design to ensure wellbore integrity and proper well control at all times
Provide AFE estimates for the drilling and completion of new wells
Oversee tracking and analysis of daily operational progress including comparison of costs to expected budget
Conduct in-depth operational and cost analyses in order to support decisions and control costs
Understand pertinent rules and regulations to ensure procedures and operations meet or exceed requirements
Coordinate with both office and field personnel regarding drilling and completions activities
Coordinate and manage multiple external vendors and suppliers working on projects
Coordinate with asset exploration teams to design full scale asset development plans
Strong analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills required
Ability to make technically and economically sound decisions while under pressure
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary
Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently
Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task with attention to accuracy
Team player that possesses the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in onshore field operations in drilling or completions preferred
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
10% - 15% Travel will be required for mandatory meetings, training and visits to field locations.
