Taylor Geotechnical is a geotechnical engineering firm located in Canmore, AB, focused on providing solutions for clients operating in mountainous environments. We provide high-quality technical advice, drilling, and geotechnical services for projects in Western Canada.
We are looking for a driller helper to help operate and maintain our low hour Eijkelkamp SRS ML Drill.
We are open to training highly motivated and hard-working individuals who have experience in laboring and construction
Duties:
•Work safely on a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
•Be responsible for the set-up, repair & maintenance, and safe operation of all drilling-related equipment
•Ensure the safe and efficient drilling of holes by participating in continuous improvement with the drill engineer
•Assist with the mobilization and demobilization of equipment in hard-to-access environments.
•Refuel drill and water pumps, run and maintain waterline
•Practice good housekeeping in all work/shop locations
•Prompt and concise communication with the Engineers and Geologist
•Monitoring stock levels of supplies and equipment for operations
•Be a safety leader; abide by and set expectations for safety and quality standards
Requirements:
•Will train the right candidate with 3-5 years experience in construction and/or as a laborer, oil and gas, mining
•Mechanical and/or Carpentry skills are an asset
•Experience as a driller or driller’s helper related to sonic or geotechnical drilling would be considered an asset.
•Have mechanical ability to troubleshoot equipment
•Have a valid Driver’s License (commercial license an asset) and must provide a current Driver’s Abstract
•Flexibility with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed
•Must be able to communicate clearly with others
•Must be reliable, hardworking, and safety-oriented
•Must be a team player with a desire to learn, and enjoy working outdoors
•Keen observation skills with a desire to learn, excel advance while working outdoors in all weather conditions
•Positive attitude on site and in the workplace
•First Aid is required, and additional safety certificates are an asset
