Your Role

As a Diamond Driller Assistant, you will work alongside experienced drillers to safely and efficiently execute drilling operations. You will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:

•

Assisting with drill setup and movement

•

Maintaining work tools and the work area

•

Handling core samples and tubes

•

Monitoring drilling levels and equipment

•

Supporting the driller in various tasks

•

Installing the drill safely with the driller

•

Performing maintenance of work tools and work surface

•

Ensuring the supply of necessary equipment

•

Ensuring proper placement of core samples in boxes

•

Manipulating core sample tubes (placing and retrieving)

•

Monitoring all levels related to the drill setup

•

Assisting in the displacement of the drill

•

Assisting and supporting the driller for the smooth progress of drilling activities

•

Performing all other tasks required for successful drilling operations

Schedule

•

Variable depending on placement of work (examples: 14 days on / 7 days off, 5 days on / 2 days off, 21 days on / 21 days off)

•

Day and night rotation

•

10-12 hour shifts

Work Location

•

Could be placed anywhere in Ontario

Your Skills and Experience

Essential

•

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

•

Good physical fitness and stamina

•

Strong team player with a positive attitude

•

Eagerness to learn and contribute in a productive environment

•

Ability to meet the role's physical demands, including lifting up to 75 lbs or more, and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test if required.

•

As a condition of employment, candidates must be able to complete a criminal record check if required by the client's site-specific requirements.

Bonus Points

•

Prior experience as an Underground or Surface Diamond Driller Assistant

•

Hold relevant certifications, such as Surface or Underground Diamond Driller Common Core

•

Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification
