Drafting Coordinator – Houston, TX (Hybrid Schedule)

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Drafting Coordinator to join a leading energy infrastructure team in Houston, TX. This role will operate on a hybrid schedule (on-site Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) and play a critical part in supporting internal design efforts and managing drawing packages across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD and document control, and be comfortable navigating a high-volume, fast-paced environment where collaboration and coordination are key.
Key Responsibilities
•Serve as the primary liaison for drafting deliverables between internal teams and third-party providers.
•Oversee the full lifecycle of project drawings—from initiation through construction and final as-builts.
•Coordinate drawing access, ensuring controlled check-in/check-out processes and managing concurrent use across projects.
•Perform quality reviews (QA/QC) on internal and external drawing submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company drafting standards.
•Provide technical guidance to third-party vendors and internal team members on drafting expectations and standards.
•Track and prioritize drawing workflows to align with project milestones and schedules.
•Collaborate with engineers and designers to confirm drawing content reflects project intent.
•Assist with drawing compilation for cathodic protection, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems when needed.
•Manage multiple drawing requests from different stakeholders with strong time management and communication.
Qualifications
•Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with CADWorx and Hexagon tools is a plus.
•Experience in document coordination and document management systems is required.
•Strong knowledge of drafting techniques, industry standards, and both 2D and 3D design technologies.
•Prior experience reviewing third-party drawing packages is highly preferred.
•Oil & Gas industry background is a strong plus but not required.
•Experience with cathodic protection design is a significant advantage.
•Understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical system drawings.
•Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
•Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
