Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.

Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.

Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

This position involves working as a member of the Distribution Technical Support Team in providing direct support to Gas Operations in construction, operation and maintenance activities. Utilizing PSEG behavioral standards, sound management practice and skills, direct operations personnel in accomplishing the desired results. Ensure the quality and quantity of work performed is in compliance with Company standards and procedures, safe work practices and government regulations. Maximize system reliability by ensuring timely and effective planning and scheduling. Demonstrate a total commitment to teamwork in achieving desired results for Gas Transmission and Distribution Engineering. Develop bargaining unit personnel group skills to effectively meet goals and performance objectives. Provide direct input and support for the performance appraisal of bargaining unit associates. Ensure Gas Operations on call coverage and accept call out obligations.


Job Responsibilities


Job Responsibilities:

Expand knowledge of PSE&G Gas Operations through training initiatives and on-the-job training

Oversee special projects involving technical, field personnel, manufacturers and consultants.
Provide technical assistance in implementing special programs and new processes.
Provide technical support and problem resolution during system activities and in equipment/material failure analysis.
Ensure Company and regulatory compliance in the inspection of materials and equipment utilized by Gas Operations


Job Specific Qualifications


Required:

High School graduate or GED.

3-10 years of experience in the construction/operation/maintenance of gas distribution facilities.
Knowledge of Company/Union Agreement.
Experience working with MWMS.
Working knowledge of the Gas Distribution Standards Manual (GDS).
Must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor's Test (FLST) unless presently and directly supervising (i.e. responsible for performance review) blue collar, operating department/represented associates for a minimum of 12 continuous months. For those who have previously taken and received an acceptable score on the FLST but who are not presently and directly supervising represented associates, test results will be valid for a maximum period of two years from the date the test was taken.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
Must have ability to obtain/possess and maintain valid CDL license.
Safety sensitive position. D.O.T. testing required.

Desired:

Experience and familiarity with all aspects of gas facility construction and repair and various material. types (plastic, steel and cast iron).
Experience in material joining (heat fusion of plastic, welding of steel, mechanical joining of various material types).
Experience in performing purging (gas-in, gas-out) procedures on gas facilities of various sizes and material types.
Experience with pressure regulation equipment and relief systems.
Experience with line tapping and line stopping equipment and materials
