*Long term Contract Assignment in Orange, Texas
*2 Roles - 1 DCS Operator and 1 Lead DCS Operator
As a DCS Operator, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting plant processes through the Distributed Control System (DCS). You will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations by responding to process alarms, maintaining system performance, and supporting commissioning/startup teams when required.
- Operate and monitor plant equipment and processes via the Distributed Control System (DCS).
- Maintain continuous surveillance of system performance; respond to alarms and abnormal operating conditions.
- Coordinate with field operators, engineers, and supervisors to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
- Perform routine system checks, equipment startups/shutdowns, and log all relevant operating data.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving control system issues.
- Support commissioning and startup activities by verifying loops, conducting functional checks, and assisting in system testing.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Previous experience as a DCS Operator in power generation, petrochemical, or heavy industrial facilities.
- Must have Emerson Ovation experience / knowledge.
- Strong understanding of process operations, equipment, and control systems.
- Ability to work effectively with commissioning teams, supervisors, and field operators.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and situational awareness skills.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in instrumentation and controls commissioning, ideally within power plants or heavy industrial sectors.
- Must have Emerson Ovation experience / knowledge.
- Strong working knowledge of DCS environments (loop testing, database maintenance, configuration).
- Proven ability to supervise and lead field commissioning teams and manage integrated testing activities.
- Solid understanding of industrial control systems safety standards and commissioning workflows.
