The Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Director of Production has responsibility to deliver safe/compliant/cost-effective production targets, plant optimization and production process improvements across our North American RNG facilities. The role works with site Plant Managers and Technical Services group to plan/forecast RNG production, cost effectively deliver relevant metrics (reliability/availability/efficiency) and implement fit for purpose best practice processes to achieve EBITDA targets for the RNG assets.
Key Areas of Responsibility
•Partner closely with RNG Plant Managers to achieve and exceed designated daily, weekly, monthly and annual production targets.
•Track actual production using short interval control to minimise surprises and prepare weekly / monthly / quarterly re-forecast to ensure course correction and delivery of the annual production budget.
•Measure and track key production and plant equipment metrics e.g. reliability, availability / conversion efficiency to enhance operational consistency and maximize uptime.
•Review and analyze plant operational efficiency, plant controls/trending analysis, plant subsystems performance, including media performance and plant energy / utilities efficiency performance.
•Review and analyze plant downtime and root causes of production losses.
•Provide agile troubleshooting support to quickly respond and address operational challenges to minimize disruption and maintain productivity.
•Champion plant optimization efforts by identifying, screening, prioritizing and initiating opportunities to optimize the performance of all RNG facilities.
•Liaise with Technical Services engineering team to facilitate and execute improvement projects that enhance production capacities, including supporting the MOC process for plant improvements,
•Liaise with Technical Services operation & maintenance team to streamline production systems, processes and tools to enhance overall system performance in line with EDL and best industry practices in continuous improvement operational excellence.
•Work with relevant stakeholders to identify equipment single points of failure and availability of critical spares.
•Monitor and review critical systems performance and trends to ensure compliance with PSM, environmental and commercial compliance requirements.
•Work with fuel team to generate the annual budget and medium-term plan (MTP) RNG production data.
•Mentor and coach the Plant Controls technicians.
•Act as a backup for the General Manager to ensure leadership continuity and operational support as needed.
•Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations.
•Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors.
•In addition to the duties set out above, the Director of Production may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company, e.g. supporting the commissioning and operational readiness of new RNG plants

Qualifications and Experience
Required:
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
•10+ years in operations support roles, preferably in RNG, natural gas, or midstream operations
•Proven experience in facility operation and maintenance, plant optimization, and equipment troubleshooting
•Strong knowledge of compression, pressure-swing adsorption, and other gas processing technologies
•Familiarity with automation and SCADA.
•Experience with data analytics and performance monitoring tools to drive efficiency
•Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, projects, compliance, health and safety, and commercial teams
•Data analysis, trending, and reporting of operational parameters from SCADA and dashboards to support operations and leadership with data-driven decision making.
Preferred:
•Prior LFG to RNG Plant production and management experience.
•Prior experience with system start-up and reliable operations, preferable RNG operations experience.
•Experience with setting and adhering to budgets and understanding of basic production planning principles.
•Experience with setting site maintenance schedules, preferably with both gas field, gas plant and engines
•Experience adhering to Health and safety responsibilities and requirements.
•Experience with operational excellence and continuous improvement processes.
•Knowledge of landfill operations.
•Candidates living within Ohio preferred.
