Director of Operations
Location: Florida | Full-Time Reports To: Managing Director
Position Summary
Propane Ninja is a rapidly growing propane logistics and service company serving residential, commercial, and industrial markets across Florida. We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Director of Operations to lead our field operations, delivery network, plant production, fleet logistics, and inventory systems.
This position requires a leader who can build efficient systems, manage people, drive financial performance, and execute daily operations at a high level. The role works closely alongside the Managing Director and partners directly with the company’s leadership team to drive operational success, business growth, and customer satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
•Lead, train, and manage plant managers, delivery supervisors, dispatch, fleet mechanics, cylinder operations staff, and field personnel.
•Build a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and team development.
•Run regular operational meetings to review performance metrics, address priorities, and solve issues.
•Hire, onboard, and develop staff to support both current operations and future growth.
Operations Management
•Oversee daily operations of propane delivery, plant production, cylinder exchange, transloading, fleet maintenance, and inventory control.
•Manage plant production schedules, cylinder filling operations, and propane packaging processes.
•Optimize fleet routing, delivery scheduling, and capacity utilization to lower operating costs while maintaining service standards.
•Drive continuous process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, and margin performance.
•Implement operational systems that scale as the company continues to grow.
Financial Performance
•Full profit and loss responsibility for operational divisions.
•Develop, monitor, and manage budgets, operating expenses, and financial goals.
•Use data and reporting tools to track key performance indicators, identify areas for improvement, and drive corrective actions.
•Partner with senior leadership on capital investments, business expansion planning, and operational capacity strategies.
Inventory & Asset Management
•Oversee management of propane inventory, tank assets, cylinder fleet, fleet maintenance, and facility equipment.
•Maintain accurate inventory control while balancing working capital and supply needs.
•Manage vendor relationships related to fleet maintenance, parts procurement, equipment acquisition, and operational supplies.
Safety & Compliance
•Ensure full compliance with DOT, OSHA, NFPA 58, EPA, and state regulatory requirements.
•Lead the company’s safety program, training schedules, compliance audits, and incident investigations.
•Maintain readiness for regulatory inspections, audits, and insurance reviews.
•Obtain Florida Category I LP Gas Dealer License within first 6 months of employment.
•Maintain current SOPs and conduct routine training to ensure compliance across all operational areas.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
•Partner closely with the Director of Customer Experience to ensure coordinated scheduling, delivery execution, and customer satisfaction.
•Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Accounting, HR, and the Executive Team to align operational priorities with overall business objectives.
•Serve as a key leader supporting both day-to-day execution and long-term business development initiatives.
Key Qualifications
•7+ years of leadership experience in propane, energy distribution, fuel delivery, logistics, or fleet operations.
•Strong knowledge of propane delivery, plant production, cylinder exchange, DOT compliance, fleet safety, and regulatory standards.
•Prior experience managing multi-location or multi-department operations in a growth-focused business.
•Excellent financial management experience overseeing budgets, expenses, and profit margins.
•Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and people development abilities.
•Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
•Entrepreneurial mindset, flexible, adaptable, and highly accountable.
Required Certifications (or obtained within 6 months)
•Florida Category I LP Gas Dealer License (mandatory)
•CDL with Hazmat Endorsement (preferred)
•CETP Certifications (preferred)
•DOT, OSHA, NFPA Safety Certifications (preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
•Base Salary: $120,000 annually
•Bonus Potential: Performance-based bonus program
•Equity Compensation: Company growth participation plan
•Total Compensation Opportunity: ~$175,000+ with bonus and growth upside
