Job Summary:
The Director of Information Technology
is a strategic and hands-on executive responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology and information systems across the organization. In a fast-paced fuel industry environment, this role leads IT operations, cybersecurity, infrastructure, enterprise systems, and digital innovation to support the company’s business goals. The Director of IT will develop and execute the IT roadmap, manage a high-performing IT team, and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions.
Responsibilities:
•Develop and execute the company’s IT strategy aligned with business objectives and operational needs.
•Lead the planning and implementation of enterprise-wide systems, digital transformation initiatives, and infrastructure upgrades.
•Identify emerging technologies that support operational efficiencies, automation, and customer service improvements.
•Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of all IT systems, networks, hardware, and software.
•Ensure high system availability, performance, and security across all company locations, terminals, cardlocks, and remote operations.
•Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
•Establish and maintain cybersecurity strategies and protocols to safeguard company data and systems.
•Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data privacy laws.
•Manage risk through regular assessments, audits, and employee awareness programs.
•Oversee ERP, CRM, fuel management, dispatch, and billing systems to ensure seamless operations.
•Drive improvements in data integration, reporting, and business intelligence across departments.
•Support mobile technologies and digital platforms for field teams, drivers, and customers.
•Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing IT team, including network engineers, support analysts, system admins, and developers.
•Manage vendor relationships, software contracts, and third-party service providers.
•Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective investments and resource allocation.
•Act as a business partner to operations, finance, sales, HR, and safety teams to identify and implement technology solutions.
•Provide executive-level reporting and updates on IT performance, project status, and strategic priorities.
•Lead cross-departmental IT projects and system rollouts with clear communication and training plans.
•Stay informed of industry trends, cybersecurity threats, and best practices in IT governance.
•Other duties may be assigned to support business and operational goals.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree is preferred.
•10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in an executive or director-level role.
•Strong understanding of IT operations in fuel, logistics, energy, or a similarly regulated and asset-heavy industry.
•Proven success implementing ERP, CRM, fleet/dispatch systems, and IT infrastructure projects.
•Expertise in cybersecurity, cloud solutions, and compliance management.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
•Ability to travel as needed to company sites, terminals, and vendor meetings.
