We’re seeking a driven and strategic Director of Finance who will oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, project accounting, and financial reporting. This role plays a strategic part in guiding financial decision-making, optimizing financial performance, ensuring compliance with construction industry regulations, and supporting long-term company growth.
•Strategic Planning & Analysis
+ Lead the company’s annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
+ Partner with senior leadership and PE firm on long-term financial planning, capital strategy, and profitability analysis.
+ Create and analyze performance metrics and project profitability to drive operational efficiency.
+ Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including general accounting, job costing, payroll, AP/AR, and cash management.
+ Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor financial and project performance.
+ Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
+ Conduct regular business unit reviews.
•Project & Job Costing Oversight
+ Manage job cost reporting, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
+ Collaborate with project managers to track budgets, change orders, and cost-to-complete estimates.
+ Manage Cost Accounting associated with Manufacturing
•Compliance & Risk Management
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, union rules (if applicable), and industry standards.
+ Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors, banks, and bonding agents.
+ Maintain proper internal controls and risk management procedures.
•Leadership & Team Development
+ Lead and mentor a finance and accounting team.
+ Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or Master’s preferred)
•CPA or CFA certification preferred
•10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
•Experience in the construction or engineering industry required
•Deep knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, Cost accounting and construction accounting (e.g., percentage of completion)
•Familiarity with ERPs (Viewpoint, Procore, Sage 300 CRE, NetSuite, or similar ERP)
•Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
•Management consulting, investment banking, or Private Equity experience preferred.

Salary range*: $170-$210k
•The provided base salary range is used nationally. The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
