Job Summary:
The Director of Commercial Systems will be responsible for developing, maintaining and continually improving business processes for the Supply and Logistics organization, focusing on purchase to pay process for propane supply and transportation. In this role, they will be the business owner of key commercial systems such as Right Angle, TMW, and WAM. They will also drive analytics into various processes in order to identify areas for focused process improvement initiatives. This role will work directly with various business/function owners within Supply and Logistics, Fuel Payables, Cost Accounting, IT, third party consultants and leadership to identify work efforts, drive systemic updates through partnership with IT partners and lead implementation efforts of process change.

- Lead efforts across Supply and Logistics, Fuel Payables, and Cost Management teams to evaluate, improve and implement work processes that will drive the organization’s continuous improvement focusing on the purchase to pay process for propane and transportation.
- Ensure mapping of critical business processes related to RA contract management, book inventory position management, purchase to pay from order creation to vendor payment
- Provide guidance to S&L teams on deal and order creation and movements in RA daily
- Monitor deal and movement entry within the system, flagging data inputs that could be incorrect or incomplete
- Manage overall book and portfolio structures, including financial hedge long/short positions, within the RA system
- Raise system and interface defects and work with IT and business owner to test fixes
- Lead month-end close process from S&L perspective, working closely with Cost Management and Fuel Payables to ensure smooth month end close.
- Develop analytics around these processes focused on identifying trends in areas which could then be subject to process improvement initiatives
- Propose new process improvements and develop justification to support its implementation
- Collaborate with resource planning & systems group and IT business partners to ensure development of new system tools or enhancements to existing tools to support new process improvements
- Helps in defining KPIs for success and creates and presents detailed analytics to Amerigas leadership on success criteria.
- Supports the design or enhancement of dashboards to monitor the business process KPIs and drive decision making.
- Leverage partnerships with others to identify current work processes and make recommendation for work elimination, consolidation, re-engineering and/or centralization.
- Direct documentation of updated process and policy changes with appropriate S&L and finance SME
- Clearly communicate process changes and training requirements to stakeholders within S&L as part of overall change management process.
- Works with budget team to develop the model for upcoming fiscal year and develops a plan, the strategies, tactics and resources needed to execute on that model.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and statutory requirements
- Provide updates to all levels of the organization as needed- 5+ years process improvement or field operations experience
- Experience and deep understanding of the following business processes/solutions is highly valued, but not all are required:
oDistribution, Planning, Logistics
oFinance, Pricing & Accounting
oEnergy/Retail/Distribution industry
oRight Angle (Trader desktop, Scheduler desktop, Risk desktop)
oTMW (or similar dispatching software)
oWAM (or similar optimization software)
oRisk management
- Ability to execute within a project management framework and provide updates to leadership in an engaging and understandable manner.
- Experience with process mapping and design
- Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop correlations and trends
- Outstanding communication skills required to establish and build trusting relationships with a diverse group of individuals at all levels both within our organization and externally.

- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of Management experience- Prior experience working with Right Angle
- Project Management or Process Improvement experience preferred
