Summary:

DMC is currently looking for Diamond Driller Assistants to join our team on a contract basis, based in Sudbury, ON. Reporting to the Supervisor (Drilling), the Diamond Driller Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Driller in the safe and efficient operation of diamond drilling activities. This role requires flexibility to travel to other project locations, as required.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure the quality, care, and proper handling and packaging of core product.

- Follow rules related to safety standards and practices before, during and after work.

- Conduct pre-start checks of work area and equipment.

- Help the Driller in the daily operation of drilling rig.

- Practice good housekeeping (maintaining a clean work area, storage of materials and spare parts).

- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

- 2 years of underground experience in a similar role.

- 770150 Diamond Drilling Common Core.

- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

- Sound knowledge, skills and experience in operation of machinery.

- Proven ability to recognize and follow verbal and written instructions.

- Able to work rotation, day, and night shifts as may be required.

- Able and willing to travel as required.

- Valid driver’s license required.

- Experience as a Diamond Drill Helper or Diamond Driller is an asset.

- Long Hole experience is an asset.
