About the role:
As a Steelcase Dealer Designer, you are responsible for creating functional and visually appealing workspace solutions that align with client needs and Steelcase standards. This role involves space planning, furniture specification, creating installation drawings, and collaborating closely with sales and project management teams to deliver design solutions that exceed client expectations.
What you’ll do:
•Collaborate with Senior Designers, clients, and project teams to understand design requirements and project objectives, while balancing creative ideas with client expectations.
•Support projects by creating aesthetically pleasing furniture and construction renderings that align with client needs and industry standards.
•Own and manage the technical side of design projects—including measurements, specifications, and quotes—with a high level of organization, accuracy, and initiative.
•Develop detailed drawings, renderings, and specifications using CET Designer (Configura) software.
•Select and source materials, finishes, and furniture components that meet project budgets and design concepts.
•Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders, incorporating feedback and revisions as necessary.
•Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain samples, pricing, and specifications for design materials and furnishings.
•Work closely with the project team, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure design feasibility and compliance with building codes and regulations.
•Assist in preparing project documentation, including design presentations, material boards, and design documentation for construction and installation purposes.
•Stay informed about industry trends, new materials, and design innovations to continuously enhance design offerings.
•Participate in regular in-person collaborative sessions and mentorship meetings to foster creative ideation and team growth.
Requirements:
Who you are:
•You have a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience); relevant certifications are a plus.
•You bring 2+ years of design experience, ideally within the contract furniture and construction industry.
•You are proficient in design software and tools such as CET Designer (Configura), AutoCAD, and SketchUp, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
•You have strong 3D modeling skills and can produce detailed renderings for furniture and construction projects.
•You possess in-depth knowledge of furniture and interior design principles, materials, and current industry trends.
•You excel at interpreting client needs and translating project requirements into thoughtful, compelling design concepts.
•You demonstrate creativity and strong design-thinking skills to develop innovative and functional design solutions.
•You have excellent communication and presentation skills, allowing you to clearly articulate design ideas to clients and teams.
•You are very detail-oriented, organized, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where adaptability is essential.
•You’re open to learning and exploring additional design tools and technologies to support your work.
Work Environment:
Hybrid Work Environment: This is a full-time role based in Denver, CO and follows a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence 3 days a week to foster effective team collaboration and mentorship, with the flexibility of remote work on other days.
