Design Technician I (Siting & Land Rights Technician)

What You’ll Do:

- As a technician, you will assist our Siting and Land Rights Specialists with land ownership research, GIS mapping, legal land descriptions, and other tasks related to the acquisition and management of land rights for our energy projects

This position is a hybrid-remote role where you will work in the office 3 times a week.

Required Qualifications:

- Conduct land ownership research using online databases, county records, and other sources.

- Create and update legal records in Land Works for company wide access to executed Xcel Energy easements.

- Create and update GIS maps using ArcGIS and Google Earth.

- Prepare and review legal land descriptions and documents

- Assist with landowner outreach and communication.

- Support the Siting and Land Rights team with administrative and clerical tasks

Preferred Qualifications

- Interest in land ownership research, GIS mapping, and legal land descriptions.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word

- Interest in learning ArcGIS and Google Earth.

- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
