Design Engineer -Die / Machine / Automation

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled and experienced Design Engineer responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components for dies and automated machinery. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, along with proficiency in various design software and tools. These machines will be used to produce formed and welded metal components for the SOLAR industry.

Responsibilities

- Develop and design mechanical systems and components using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo.

- Create detailed schematics, drawings, and specifications in accordance with ASME codes & standards.

- Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot design issues and implement effective solutions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project scheduling aligns with manufacturing timelines.

- Utilize FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to evaluate the performance of designs under various conditions.

- Implement programmable logic controllers (PLC) in system designs where applicable.

- Engage in system design projects involving quantum engineering concepts as needed.

- Draft technical documentation for manufacturing processes, including CNC machining specifications.

- Use Simulink and LabVIEW for system modeling and testing of designs.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mechanical knowledge, drafting techniques, and industry trends.

Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required or 3+ years related experience.

- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo) is essential.

- Experience with project scheduling tools and methodologies is preferred.

- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) practices is a plus.

- Previous experience in manufacturing environments or mechanical design roles is advantageous.

- Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis techniques.
