PRIMARY JOB OBJECTIVE: Plans, supervises, and coordinates department technical and personnel related activities efficiently for the desired quality and quantity of work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•Coordinates the daily activities of the direct reports. Provides technical solutions to operator encountered problems.
•Monitors and maintains equipment efficiency and scrap rates to standards daily.
•Directs the department with respect to daily, weekly, and monthly
•volume, cost, quality, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
•Stimulates maximum long-term efficiency by reviewing technical day-to-day issues and implementing long-term solutions in collaboration with the process engineering department and directly.
•Maintains adherence to company policies, security, safety standards, and
•good housekeeping practices.
•Schedules overtime and controls absenteeism within the department's assigned.
•Recommends measures to improve equipment performance and quality of
•product. Implements approved changes in working conditions and use of
•equipment to increase the department's efficiency.
•Conducts orientation of new employees to the department and ensures the
•subordinates receive training and development consistent with their
•Recommends capital investment ideas to improve department efficiency and scrap rates.
•Conducts new employee interviews and hires operators as needed to fit headcount plans.
•Administers operator HR functions such as: time records, vacation planning, disciplinary records, and training.
•Communicates company policies to employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
One to two years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must be highly safety conscious.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be willing to work overtime as required.
Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or industrial preferred).
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
