This position supports the supply/demand planning function to enable business planning, enhance profitability, and meet business objectives. Translates forecast and manages a production plan to meet inventory targets for either Chlorine & VCM or Liquid Caustic Soda & KOH (as applicable).
- Implement core supply/demand planning processes and plans to support business objectives considering plant capabilities, logistics resources, and internal & external customer requirements.
- Manage the business supply/demand balances including operating within monthly inventory guidelines, while accounting for planned and unplanned outages, plant constraints, and customer changes.
- Monitor results and identify trends impacting Marketing’s demand forecast.
- Collaborate with Business to prioritize daily customer shipments across production plants utilizing DROP (Daily Railcar Shipment Prioritization) system.
- Manage the optimization process for subject materials based on plant production and freight logistics.
- Develop inventory management plans for plant outages to ensure supply of external and internal customers.
- Assist plants, terminals, and warehouses with inventory discrepancies and reconciliations in SAP.
- Manage existing exchange contracts to support the monthly supply/demand plan.
- Create and maintain SAP master data for subject materials and ship points.
- Create and publish the bi-weekly OxyChem Production & Inventory Summary Report to a broad distribution including finance, manufacturing, marketing, and executive management, as applicable.
- Manage material sourcing for internal needs and terminals/transloads to meet production / customer sales while controlling costs.
- BS or BA, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or applicable field of study.
- At least 3 years applicable work experience in a related discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience working in a transportation, logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing environment. Experience in operational logistics is a plus.
- Strong organization skills as well as the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Negotiating experience.
- Chloralkali manufacturing or product knowledge.
