Delivery Driver | Pick up Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced driver with strong customer service to join our team. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading vehicles for pickups and deliveries, transporting goods to and from various locations. Our driver to be familiar with GPS navigation systems, for directions to arrive safely. They must work closely with the Shop Supervisor, ensuring timely and safe deliveries and pickups. You must have strong communication skills while on the road with the ability to log time and mileage details for each destination. As our driver, it is important to meet transport deadlines. You will work from a daily planner, for scheduled and unscheduled transport, while exercising your best judgment, operating various vehicles to complete to each task assigned. Our driver will work with pallets, load locking devices, shipping blocks, etc. Our driver must be flexible, dependable, time conscious, and be able to move from project to project with minimal supervision. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, the ability to handle heavy lifting, moving tasks and has strong written | verbal communications. You will also be apart of our warehouse team assisting with our shipping & receiving department with its various duties, when not on the road driving.

Essential Requirements

- Must allow your DMV records to be reviewed by company annually, a clean record required

- Exercise safe driving, including defensive driving techniques and laws of the road required

- Ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts and company owned vehicles.

- Must have knowledge with loading truck and strapping down cargo for safe transport.

- Maintain a clean work area daily

- Duties

- Safely operate a delivery vehicle, automatic transmission vehicles.

- Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling of items to prevent damage.

- Follow designated delivery routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.

- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns from clients.

- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies.

- Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organization.

- Utilize equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks for loading and unloading tasks.

Skills

- Strong customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.

- Previous experience as a driver for delivery | pick-up or in a courier role is preferred.

- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes.

- Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks safely.

- Experience with route driving and knowledge of local areas is beneficial.

- Capability to use forklifts and pallet jacks effectively for loading and unloading goods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
