Position Overview
TransGrid Energy is seeking a Data Engineer/Analyst to source data and develop analytic tools and algorithms. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify areas of interest and deliver relevant business intelligence, including reconciling discrepancies.
This position is responsible for utilizing asset data to optimize internal process flows and identify areas of potential improvement.
Responsibilities
- Establish data connections for queries and/or to build and maintain databases and warehouses.
- Develop tools and algorithms to streamline the calculation of metrics, invoice settlements, and other areas as needed as well as to identify areas of potential operations improvement.
- Analyze and determine causes of discrepancies between internal and external results (such as settlements and contractual metrics).
- Perform ad-hoc analysis in collaboration with stakeholders on an as-needed basis.
- Be the in-house subject matter expert for all things data.
- Provide data-driven operational insights to leadership to support strategic initiatives.
- Document and streamline operations and market participation processes.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, economics, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data networks and analytics.
- Proficient in database, analytics, and business intelligence tools such as SQL Servers, Power BI, Python, and Tableau.
- Experience in power plant operations, renewable energy, and energy market activities is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with utility-scale battery and solar technologies

Compensation Range: $120K - $135K
