We are currently hiring for two distinct positions to support the commissioning and start-up of a mining operation located in Arizona, USA:
1. Process Operator / Power Engineer
2. Control Room Operator
Extensive mining industry experience is a mandatory requirement for both roles.
About the Opportunity
These positions are critical in ensuring the safe and effective commissioning, start-up, and operational support of equipment and plant systems at a mining facility. Each role is also a key interface with the operations team, facilitating a smooth turnover of the project and optimizing ongoing plant performance.
Key Responsibilities (Applicable to Both Roles)
•Execute commissioning and start-up tasks in accordance with Sancon policies and safety standards
•Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and day-to-day operations in a mining context
•Issue safe work permits and perform gas testing as needed
•Conduct mechanical isolation of process equipment for maintenance
•Develop and update procedures (SOPs, lockout/tagout, startup/shutdown, etc.)
•Participate in meetings, checklists, and turnover documentation
•Use and interpret P&IDs and support CSU documentation processes
•Additional Role-Specific ResponsibilitiesProcess Operator / Power Engineer
•Operate and troubleshoot plant equipment on site
•Support process optimization and energy management
•Must hold a valid Power Engineering certification
•Monitor and control plant systems from the control room
•Interpret process trends and alarms to make real-time decisions
•Strong understanding of flotation circuits and tailings systems required
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
•Process/Power Engineering background
•Valid driver’s license and clean abstract
•Must reside in Canada and be eligible to travel to and work in the U.S. Sancon will provide work visa sponsorship for qualified candidates.
•MHSA (U.S. Mining Health & Safety Administration) training preferred
Experience
•5+ years in plant operations
•Direct mining experience is required
•Experience with pre-commissioning, commissioning, and CSU activities
•Control room experience and knowledge of flotation, bulk handling, tailings systems

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $55.00-$70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
