The Crush Crop Operator shall operate and assist in the functions of flushing debris from tubes in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift.
- Make sure the tube is free of debris.
- Maintain machinery specifications by observing machine operations, detecting machinery malfunctions.
- Adequate amount of water for flushing.
- Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up and during shifts.
- Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
- Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.
- Assist in changeovers and Mill stops.
- Communicating with Supervisor about any problems with material and equipment.
- Safety is our number one priority. Employees must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
- Employee must report to his immediate supervisor for briefing on daily tasks.
- Provide and assist with good maintenance on the equipment he is operating.
- Employee must maintain good housekeeping ethics. Work areas must be free and clear of debris.
- Refer to Flush-out / Rotary Straightener Area SOP.
- Other duties as assigned.
o High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
o 1 years’ experience within the OCTG pipe industry.
o At least Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe industry is preferable.
o Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools and handheld technical devices.
o Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and flushing operation is a plus.
o Ability to lift to 30 pounds required.
o Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
o Employees must be able to work with a flexible schedule, which may require over-time.
o Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed.
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.
- The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
- The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
- Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
