- Assist with battery replacements and new installations for UPS systems.
- Support preventative and scheduled maintenance of battery systems with minimal disruption to customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site during all phases of work.
- Follow operational, maintenance, and emergency procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
- Interact effectively with internal teams and external clients to address service needs.
- Utilize hand and general maintenance tools and equipment as required.
- Assist in the warehouse and support other service divisions (such as Switch Gear, Operations, HVAC) as needed.
- Work from schematic diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions to complete tasks.
- Learn and apply procedures for disconnecting and connecting sealed batteries, building battery racks, and installing batteries in critical spaces.
- Collect and enter data from pre-installation tests and preventive maintenance services using a laptop computer.
- Gain experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on DC battery systems with increasing independence.
- Adhere strictly to facility work rules and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Travel approximately 30% or more as required for service assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.
- Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of, or willingness to learn, AC/DC theory, electronic components, and circuitry.
- Ability to use digital multimeters, amp clamps, flexible CTs, and battery testing equipment (such as Alber Cellcorder).
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, proper use of isolation devices, arc-flash suits, and personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work with series, parallel, and series-parallel battery strings.
- Familiarity with torque values, torque-mark application, and visual inspection of battery installations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- OSHA 10-hour certification and NFPA-70E safety training (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to travel as required for the role.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
