Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor, Mill Maintenance the Coordinator, Parts & Materials will ensure timely delivery of materials to the workplace. Confirm costs and verify that the promised supply delivery dates will meet work order deadlines. Track maintenance work orders, request delivery to be expedited or parts to come from a different source. Requires a good understanding of material lead times, especially for critical spare parts, and the material status report. Verify, organize, and coordinate materials for each task package/ material kit, ensuring that these meet the planned specifications, ensure delivery to the specified workplace prior to the scheduled start date for each task. Monitor and analyze material usage trends in order to identify improvement opportunities and influence the workload flow such that the materials and spare parts costs are minimized.
Responsibilities
•Plan the delivery of materials and spare parts required for planned work orders
•Review work packages and recommend additional materials or service requirements to the planner
•Coordinate logistics, including verification that supply delivery dates meet scheduled timeline requirements, request expediting of shipments as necessary, replacement of suppliers as appropriate, sourcing materials from other department areas or tasks when possible, and, if other options are not feasible, rescheduling or changing of task scope to accommodate material availability
•Work through the mine site’s established procurement procedures to obtain materials
•Prepare and process the documents necessary to obtain materials for the planned work order
•Coordinate the assembly of a single complete package of materials, for each work order, including preparation of picking slips for the warehouse supervisor to start kit assembly
•Coordinate closely with the maintenance planner, providing feedback to create accurate work packages, including your perceived need for additional materials to complete tasks
•Coordinate with purchasing for buying and expediting needs and warehouse personnel regarding deliveries, spare parts availability, and task package preparation
•Coordinate with the maintenance scheduler on task packages/kit completion dates, so that the scheduler can add work orders to a schedule
•Coordinate with maintenance supervisors the delivery of the task packages to the workplace and receive feedback on the content.
•During shutdown works and post shutdowns, responsible for returning unused spares to the warehouse or supplier and retrieving materials from stores as required by the maintenance department
•Returning unused spares, re-filling on hand consumables, aiding the planning team to create and refine parts BOMs for standard and PM jobs while keeping the parts staging area tidy and clear of unused spares.
Education & Experience
•A minimum of 5 years Millwright or Electrical trades experience.
•2+ years of Maintenance Planning experience is desirable.
•Parts and warehousing materials management experience is beneficial.
•Mill related trades certification with Mill Maintenance background.
•Substantial coordination of work activities with others.
•Project Management training or experience is highly desirable.
•Computer skilled and proficient in MS Office programs including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Project
Working Conditions
•This position is based at the Mine site where camp accommodations will be provided. The work rotation seven (7) days on and seven (7) days off, working twelve (12) hour shifts.
•The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
•Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts.
•Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
•Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Prince George, Fort St. James, Mackenzie and Smithers.
