Control Panel Specialist – STAT Group Companies
The Control Panel Specialist is responsible for evaluating and servicing electrical control panels at client facilities under an Operations & Maintenance Agreement programs, as well as supporting initial installations. Key systems include lift stations, treatment plants, and both on-site and remote monitoring equipment.
This role requires technical expertise in electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair, combined with the ability to assess system performance, compliance, and reliability.
- Conduct facility evaluations and inspections of electrical control panels, monitoring systems, and related infrastructure.
- Document findings and provide recommendations for maintenance, upgrades, or corrective actions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical standards and NEC requirements.
- Perform installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical conductors, transformers, relays, circuit breakers, and Motor Control Centers.
- Read and interpret electrical construction and control drawings, procedures, and schematics.
- Utilize test equipment (digital multimeters, insulation resistance meters/Meggers, circuit tracers, amp probes).
- Set up and initialize monitoring and control devices.
- Work with PLC control systems: programming, integration, installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Provide instrumentation troubleshooting, diagnosis, setup, and limited calibration support.
- Travel to customer sites for wiring, installation, commissioning, and evaluation of control systems.
- Replace and repair motor starters, breakers, overload protectors, fuses, relays, relay coils, terminal blocks, and switches.
- Install panel-mounted equipment, mount DIN rails, and wire installed components.
- Strong working knowledge of control circuits and motor controls.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred.
- Completed an accredited electrical apprenticeship or equivalent training.
- Familiarity with PLCs and industrial control systems, including minor programming.
- Ability to perform basic electrical construction and use pipe threading tools, hand power tools, and mechanical tools.
