We are seeking a Contracts Manager who will enjoy collaborating with colleagues at The Energy Authority (TEA) and providing contract support necessary for the operation of the Legal department. This position will be responsible for negotiation, implementation, and administration of a variety of contracts to support TEA’s business and trading operations and will assist with other projects, as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.* Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of business contracts, including confidentiality agreements, vendor agreements, service agreements, trading contracts, guaranty agreements, statements of work, task orders, certificates, and amendments.

Coordinate the negotiation and implementation of agreements related to power and natural gas commodity transactions and other energy-related transactions on behalf of TEA, its Members and its clients.
Coordinate the negotiation and implementation of agreements related to electric transmission and natural gas transportation/storage agreements on behalf of TEA, its Members and its clients.
Coordinate the development and maintenance, as needed, of templates to expedite the negotiation and implementation of various agreements on behalf of TEA, its Members and its clients, and present templates of such agreements to legal staff and TEA’s Risk Management Committee, as appropriate.
Coordinate the initial entry and subsequent maintenance of contract-related information into TEA’s trade capture and contract management systems.
Coordinate responses to contract-related questions and data requests from both internal and external customers.
Conduct research and analysis to identify trends, spot issues, potential risks on various contract matters.
Stay informed of industry best practices.
Assist attorneys on various tasks such as drafting, researching, organizing, and communicating with cross-functional teams.
Actively participate in business development activities to present and sell contract-related services.
Monitor contracts and move forward with extensions, renewals, or other modifications according to what’s best for the company.
Take responsibility for proofreading, formatting, and reviewing documents for consistency and accuracy.
Maintain a high level of internal customer support, responsiveness and timeliness by operating with a sense of urgency.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree; five or more years of experience in contract review, negotiation, and administration.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED

Experience in commercial, financial, and/or energy contracting preferred.

Knowledge of standard and nonstandard commercial and energy contract and confirmation terms and conditions, including exposure to ISDAs, EEIs, and/or NAESBs, preferred.
