Summary
Job Description
This position will administer line operations projects to prepare construction directly interfacing with customers, contractors, and project personnel.
Essential Functions
- Review, track, and coordinate the preparation for work outlined in Work and Job orders.
- Coordinates site work including:
- Locates
- Fence removal and replacement.
- Clearing
- Landscape restoration
- Traffic Control
- Permitting
- Access refusals
- Customer awareness
- Material allocation
- Collaborate with System Control to request and support development of Switching Orders.
- Provide detailed status of Work and Job Orders by project phase.
- Prepare and review closeout documents for all requirements and restoration of work site for completion.
- Primary point of contact for customers. providing time estimates, easement requirements, and scheduling outages with impacted consumers.
- Assist prioritizing reliability efforts with capital improvements and process efficiencies.
- Oversee progress of the line inspection program and referral of findings to the appropriate department to be addressed.

Internal
- Sr Manager Line Operations: Report to receive direction and guidance from.
- Managers and Leadership: Confer with, give and receive information.
- Other Chugach Personnel: Confer and exchange information with.
- Bargaining Unit Representatives
- Consumers: Coordinate and provide information.
- Contractors, Utilities, Engineering, Line Crew, Government Agencies: Provide assistance and information for coordination of facilities in accordance with tariff requirements and Association polices.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of utility construction materials, practices, and National Electrical Safety Code requirements.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA requirements and utility construction safety practices.
- Proven ability to be self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision.
- Detailed organizational skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to expedite work while maintaining necessary standards. The ability to balance multiple priorities and make necessary decisions promptly.
- Must be capable of determining job requirements information and establish an active plan for construction readiness.
- Must be able to extract information from work orders and identify service location and scheduling requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret construction packages and drawing.
- Ability to interpret easement, land right, and permit documents.
- Skilled in customer contact and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises the Inspection Foreman.
Work Environment
This position requires an extensive field presence. Some travel via aircraft in varying weather conditions. Some work takes place in the office. This position is subject to 24-hour call out on a rotational duty supervisor call out system.
Minimum Qualifications And Experience
Education
Associate’s degree in business, construction, or related discipline, required.
Experience
Five (5) years’ experience in project scheduling, engineering, construction, and permitting. Experience in project management in a construction environment, preferred. Electric utility experience, preferred.
Substitution
Additional years of experience in related fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
