Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Development, the Construction Supervisor is responsible for Mustang SUD’s in-house construction division. This role provides leadership to the Utility Construction Team, ensuring safe and accurate execution of water utility construction projects, adherence to specifications, and developing project budgets and scopes of work.
Essential Functions:
•Project Management: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including construction schedules, resource allocations, and budgets. Manage subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specification and communicate with stakeholders.
•Construction Supervision: Supervise the day-to-day activities of the construction crew, ensuring efficient and safe task execution. Provide direction and support to crew members to maintain productivity and quality standards.
•Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor the performance of crew members, providing feedback and support to improve productivity and quality of work. Address performance issues as well as conduct training sessions and manage the development of construction crew members and leads.
Qualifications
Education:
•Required: High School diploma or equivalent
•Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Experience:
•Required: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in construction supervision and/or project management, ideally within a governmental capacity or utility.
•Preferred: Over five (5) years of experience in construction supervision and/or project management, ideally within a governmental capacity or utility
Training and Certificates
•Preferred: TCEQ Water Licensure, Class A CDL, Relevant Safety Certifications
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
•Fieldwork: You will primarily work outdoors in various weather conditions, conducting site visits and inspections involving physical activity such as climbing ladders, walking on uneven terrain, and operating construction equipment.
•Office Setting: You will regularly work in an office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and printers.
•Schedule: Some evening or weekend work may be necessary depending on project needs.
•Travel: Travel may be required for professional development opportunities
Conditions Of Employment:
•Must have a valid Class "C" Driver's License before employment (must obtain Texas Class "C" driver's license within 30 days of hire per state law).
•Must pass a drug test, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check.
