Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a self-motivated, driven individual who is enthusiastic about beginning a career in materials testing and enjoys working in the outdoors (and not in a cubicle!).

This position is for someone who likes variety in their day and thrives in a sometimes chaotic environment*.

•

Customer service skills are needed as you will be working with various clients and contractors throughout the day.

While M-F from 7a-5p are the most common hours on-site, schedule flexibility is a must* as there are times that contractors need help onsite in the early weekday mornings or a Saturday (which will be scheduled on a rotating basis). Attendance and punctuality are essential (we have clients counting on you!).* Able to pass a drug screen and have a current driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record.*

In the role of Construction Materials Testing Technician you will:

•

Observe and document field activities.

•

Perform sampling and testing in the field for various materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, and asphalt.

•

Learn and follow protocol for testing standards and methods.

•

Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.

•

Vibration monitoring and other field duties as assigned.

•

Communicate effectively with client and project teams.

•

Follow all company safety and OSHA procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

•

Construction industry experience or other outdoor physical environment.

•

The ability to read construction plans and specifications, or learn to.

•

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate and work well with clients and fellow employees.

•

Good attendance and punctuality.

•

Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

•

A consistently positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

•

Ability to work a flexible schedule to service clients. Some projects require early morning, overnight, and Saturday availability, as needed.

•

Proven ability to strictly adhere to safety procedures.

•

Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and ability to work and maneuver equipment on uneven ground and around construction sites.

•

Physically able to work and walk in outdoor/construction site environments with uneven terrain and variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, noise, and moisture.

•

Ability to drive a company truck with a valid driver's license and clean MVR.

•

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. The background check results must adhere to federal requirements for military base access.

Salary: Hourly pay rate will be based on related experience.
