As a member of the Work Management Applications group, the successful candidate will be required to design, develop, coordinate,
standardize, optimize, and digitize Work Management capabilities and technologies, with a focus on Grid Operations and Grid
Modernization. The successful candidate will gather, document, and analyse current state and future state requirements, evaluate
and recommend solutions, and oversee or participate in the development and delivery of optimized systems (people, process, data,
and technology).
This position will look to understand and leverage business capabilities, technology architecture and platforms, and industry best
practices to help develop strategies for advancing Manitoba Hydro's grid modernization initiatives. You must have excellent
communication skills, be well organized, technology-savvy, and can lead teams to success.
Responsibilities:
•Act as a data and technology subject matter expert for Outage Management Systems, Advanced Distribution Management
Systems, As-Builting, and IoT data integration in support of grid operations and modernization.
•Apply tools and engineering knowledge and experience to evaluate, recommend, implement, and maintain modern technology
architectures.
•Provide technical, business, and engineering analysis to technology projects.
•Provide engineering consultation in the work management domain to various departments within Manitoba Hydro supporting
electric distribution, transmission, and generation.
•Develop functional specifications and system design specifications for engineering software systems.
•Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand, inform, and guide strategic integration objectives to enable
new business capabilities.
•Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Application Modernization to develop and improve enterprise architecture and
governance as well as identify and document business capabilities.
•Research and keep current with Work Management processes, systems, technologies, and functionality while maintaining
active contact with relevant vendors and research and advisory firms.
•May lead dedicated teams, develop project proposals, and/or lead and execute projects.
Qualifications:
•Graduate in Electrical or Computer Engineering from a university of recognized standing with a minimum of four years of
experience.
•Professional Member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
•Excellent analytical and technical skills.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

•Experience in business analysis, system architecture and design, technology evaluation, implementation, and maintenance.
•Working knowledge of Outage Management and/or Advanced Distribution Management, related best practices, technology
offerings, and technical architectures would be a great asset.
•Working knowledge of power engineering design, construction, and as-builting processes would be a great asset.
•Ability to document, model, and analyse business processes, people, data, applications, and technology; effectively

•Ability to engage in problem analysis, research, and evaluation of potential technology solutions while acting as a consultant
to various teams.
•Ability to lead, coach, and/or mentor others.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the Professional Engineer II classification is
$43.44-$59.95 Hourly, $83,247.84-$114,870.60 Annually. The range for the Engineer in-Training classification is $32.51-$45.74
Hourly, $62,293.92-$87,654.58 Annually.
