Rowan Digital Infrastructure is looking for a Compliance and Risk Manager to join our Legal Department. This role is critical in ensuring the company identifies and manages key risks and remains in full compliance with relevant contracts and regulations. The role involves developing and implementing contractual compliance and insurance programs, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to assess and manage risk across all projects and operations, and creating a company culture of risk awareness. This is not a back-office role; to succeed, candidates need to exemplify ownership and be a trusted and valued partner to the business.
The successful candidate will have experience and familiarity with finance, energy, real estate and construction contracts and implementing company-wide compliance tracking programs.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% for company gatherings.
Location: Denver, CO or Seattle, WA (hybrid in-office role)
- Develop and implement systems to monitor and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including leases, construction contracts, utility contracts, project financing documents, and other project delivery agreements
- Conduct risk assessments to identify key operational, financial and compliance risks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and adherence to all contractual requirements
- Manage company-wide and project-specific insurance policies, including tracking coverage, renewals, and compliance with insurance requirements
- Identify and mitigate compliance risks through proactive monitoring and reporting
- Collect and analyze data to anticipate risks and monitor and improve compliance programs
- AA or BA degree in a related field (business, real estate) or at least three (3) years of experience in contract and risk management in the data center, energy or real estate industry
- Proven experience in contract compliance and insurance management, including implementing or managing contract compliance systems
- Familiarity with project-based environments and legal documentation
- Familiarity with lender Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements and documentation
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively across departments
- Technologically savvy, with proficiency in tools such as Excel, Airtable, and contract lifecycle management platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional environment
