The Manager of Commissioning Training is responsible for overseeing and supporting the technical onboarding, initial training, and successful completion of the Mitsubishi Power Americas Commissioning Certification Program. The Manager of Commissioning Training will work closely with Commissioning Leadership team in developing and executing the commissioning training and certification program which will ensure that our commissioning Technical Field Advisors (TFA) become skilled Commissioning Engineers who exhibit high safety and quality standards in the execution of their duties to commission our new unit power plants. The Manager of Commissioning Training reports to the Senior Manager of Commissioning Services.
- Serves as the primary leader for the Commissioning Certification Program.
- Reviews and maintains the commissioning topics are current, accurate and complete per the Commissioning Manual.
- Administers the Commissioning TFA Competency Assessment Matrix for new and existing team members, ensuring updates are completed bi-annually.
- Tracks certification records for Commissioning Team members and ensures all required refresher courses and certifications are completed and kept current.
- Develops software-based support tools (primarily using Microsoft Office) to assist Commissioning TFAs in their daily tasks.
- Leads weekly Certification Meetings with management and key stakeholders, including the EHS team.
- Develops and supports Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Commissioning Services Team.
- Leads and participates in cross-functional meetings with other business units to support the rollout of company-wide certification initiatives.
- Prepares and delivers technical presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering or Technical diploma from college or university. Minimum of 10 years’ related experience in the field of Commissioning or engineering. International business experience is desirable. Experience with EPC power projects required. Experience with developing project drawings, procedures, and documents. Strong organizational and supervisory skills needed.
- 5 or more years’ direct management experience in the area of construction, commissioning or engineering. Experience in people management and development as a first line Supervisor/Manager.
- Mus be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, electronic mail required. Comfortable working with Information Technology (IT) Developers to establish reporting, tracking and job history information systems associated with sitework.
- Occasional scheduled site visits/work away from the home office involving both domestic and international travel for up to 10% of the assigned work year. Must maintain a valid and up to date driver’s license and passport.
