ADS Services, LLC is seeking a Field Automation & Controls Technician to support the design, deployment, and troubleshooting of cutting-edge Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) systems. You’ll work at our home base and travel to test facilities and customer sites, playing a critical role in installation, commissioning, and field service of our advanced control technologies.
What You’ll Do:
•Support the design, development, and testing of control systems and shop prototypes.
•Troubleshoot electrical, communication, and instrumentation systems in the field.
•Travel to drilling sites for hands-on installation and maintenance of MPD equipment.
•Ensure documentation, PLC code, and technical materials are up-to-date and in use.
•Maintain compliance with ATEX / IECEx and other industry safety standards.
•Complete all customer and regulatory training and safety protocols.
•Work directly with engineers and commissioning managers to support project success.
What You Bring:
•Experience with valves, hydraulics, control systems, and PLCs (TIA Portal a plus).
•Drilling rig background (offshore & onshore experience preferred).
•Knowledge of ATEX / IECEx standards and safety awareness in oilfield environments.
•Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills across electrical, hydraulic, and software disciplines.
•Project coordination and communication skills, including technical documentation.
•A team mindset with the ability to work independently in dynamic field conditions.
