Job Description
Power Relaying Solutions, PLLC (PRS) is an engineering services company looking for a dedicated and motivated Electrical Engineer with experience in the electric power industry. Our company’s services include protection and control design, protective relay settings development, automation and integration solutions, testing and commissioning, and training. Responsibilities
•Configure and test microprocessor-based protective relays for electric power generation, transmission lines, substations, distribution networks, and industrial power systems.
•Functionally test and commission protection and control devices at customer facilities.
•Program and test substation HMIs, automation controllers, remote terminal units (RTUs), gateways, Ethernet network equipment, and serial communications.
•Develop detailed test plans and reports for projects.
•Support Project Managers in the company to ensure quality deliverables on projects.
•Follow company T&C processes and provide feedback.
•Complete assigned work within agreed-upon scope, schedule, and budget to a high level of quality and safety.
•Collaborate with other team members as you work towards a common goal.
•Develop solutions for event collection and synchrophasor data.
•Complete any project-related documentation.
•Develop training material.

Requirements
•Four-year ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering with strong academic credentials.
•Engineer in Training (EIT) status, requires successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
•At least two years of industry-related experience in electric power system protection and control, substation equipment, substation safety, and testing.
Preferred Qualifications
•Professional Engineer (PE) License.
•AutoCAD or MicroStation experience.
•Experience in electric power system design, studies, and protective relay applications.
•Experience with ABB, Beckwith, GE, SEL, Siemens, and other relay manufacturers.
•Experience with test equipment and software.
•Willing to travel a minimum of 75% per year.

Location: Remote (New York). Work requires travel to PRS customer facilities along the east coast.
PRS home office located in Charlotte, NC.
Work Authorization: Permanent work authorization in the U.S. is required.
