Description Position Description Job Description - Commercial Transactions Attorney II or III
Are you a passionate and highly engaged contracts attorney looking to make an impact? The electric industry is facing unprecedented growth to meet the increasing power demands, largely driven by the data center/artificial intelligence industries and other projects with substantial energy requirements. We are committed to meeting this growth while simultaneously transitioning to renewable resources consistent with our Integrated Resource Plan (https://www.tep.com/2023-irp/). To meet these and other ambitious goals, such as enhancing the efficiency of our contract lifecycle management process, we are seeking a creative and dedicated individual to join our commercial transactions team.
We are seeking a commercial transactions generalist attorney with a background in negotiating contracts and managing commercial transactions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse array of challenging contracts and projects. The successful candidate will have between 4 – 8 years of transactional experience and will provide legal services required by Tucson Electric Power Company and its affiliates (collectively “Company”).
Experience with utility-specific transactions is a plus, but is not required; we have a track record of successfully training attorneys that come from other industries.
Location:
The position will be based out of the Company’s headquarters, located in downtown Tucson, Arizona, and will be subject to the Company’s hybrid work policy, which currently allows some remote work flexibility.

Key Responsibilities+ Software-as-a-Service and Software License Agreements. + Renewable energy projects, such as solar and energy storage projects; power purchase agreements. + Project development contracts such as Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contracts and Build-Transfer Agreements. + Financial contracts, such as commodity and financial hedging and trading agreements (ISDA and NAESB). + Large-scale commercial deals. + Vendor services agreements. + Independent contractor agreements. + Non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements. + Experience representing clients in land use and development matters, including purchase and sale, leasing, rights of way and entitlements. + Experience with utility-related contracts and projects. + Familiarity with regulatory and compliance issues in the energy sector.
Pay Rate:
Salary determined based on candidates experience and qualifications.
