Commercial Tire Technician

Summary:

Metalico in Youngstown, OH is seeking a skilled Commercial Tire Technician to mount, dismount, and repair semi-truck tires in the shop or on the road.

Essential Job Functions:

- Mount and dismount semi-truck tires.

- Change flat tires in the shop or on the road.

- Respond to on-the-road service calls.

- Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times.

- Conducts daily service checks of equipment, and utilizes the work order process if maintenance is required.

- Performs other tasks as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

- A valid driver's License and clean driving record are required.

- Mechanical experience of 1-2 years is preferred.

- Ability to work inside or outside as required.

- Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits.

- Punctual and reliable; good attendance required.

- Ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.

- Must be willing to follow and participate in Metalico’s Drug-Free Safety Policy.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands listed below are some but not all of what’s required of this job.

- Lift and replace semi-truck tires.

- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

- Standing, sitting, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, and grasping.

- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate hand and power tools.

- Lifts to 80 pounds from the floor to waist level and can carry such objects for at least 30 feet.

- Physically able to participate in training and meetings.

Work Environment:

- Outside work in the Yard is where temperature and weather extremes (heat, cold, rain) may be encountered.

- Work will take place in an industrial environment, with noise, dust, and fumes.

- The noise level in the work environment can be moderate at times.

Work Hours:

- Monday through Friday, 40-hour work week, Saturdays, and overtime required as needed.
