Heavy Duty Commercial Tire Technician

About Us:

Fairway Recycle Group Inc. operates a private mechanic shop in Richmond, supporting our fleet and providing tire services. We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Commercial Tire Technician to join our team.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will handle all aspects of heavy-duty commercial tire work, including mounting, dismounting, balancing, repairs, and installations. This role is based out of our in-house shop. Candidates must have their own tools to be considered for the position.

Compensation:

- Up to $40/hour (based on experience)

- Additional percentage of sales for servicing third-party tire work

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose, repair, mount, balance, and install heavy-duty commercial tires

- Conduct inspections for wear, damage, and safety compliance

- Handle tire repairs (including patching and retreading preparation)

- Maintain accurate records of work performed

- Ensure a safe and organized work environment

Requirements:

- Proven experience working with heavy-duty commercial tires

- Must supply own tools (mandatory requirement)

- Ability to safely operate tire service equipment

- Strong knowledge of safety practices in a shop setting

- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently

Assets:

- Red Seal or industry certification in tire/mechanical trades

- Fleet service or mobile tire service experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
