Overview:
The Commercial Strategy Specialist II will join the Supply Chain Staffing and Corporate Services team in Houston, TX. This role focuses on managing contracts for health, safety, environmental, lab, and security services. The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, adaptable to a dynamic environment, and skilled at building relationships while driving impactful results.
Responsibilities:
•Manage full contract lifecycle for Corporate Services categories (health, safety, environmental, lab, and security) supporting onshore and offshore assets.
•Advise internal stakeholders on vendor selection, contract execution, and vendor performance evaluation.
•Execute new contracts, term extensions, amendments, and RFPs.
•Serve as the primary point of contact between business units, vendors, Legal, and Risk.
•Collaborate with business and functional leadership on sourcing and value creation strategies.
•Prepare and negotiate contract terms and conditions, including MSAs, commercial terms, and purchase orders.
•Ensure suppliers are compliant with the HES Contractor Safety Program.
•Maintain ongoing communication with internal stakeholders on policies, procedures, and strategies.
•Monitor vendor capabilities, availability, and cost competitiveness.
•Conduct quarterly business reviews and track supplier KPIs.
•Use SAP and Ariba for sourcing, contract management, supplier registration, and performance tracking.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
•7+ years of experience in category management and strategic sourcing
•Strong understanding of procure-to-pay processes, contract management, commercial negotiations, and sourcing strategy
•Proficient in contract drafting, analysis, and negotiation
•Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
•Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
•Effective cross-functional collaboration and interpersonal skills
•Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
•Comfortable navigating and supporting others through change
•Knowledge of supply chain principles and practices
•Experience with SAP, Ariba, Spotfire, and Power BI
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office Suite
•Strong stakeholder relationship management, particularly with technical teams
•Confident presenting to internal and external audiences
