Description
Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis, LLC. (MD&A), a world-class supplier of power generation repairs, services and parts, is seeking a qualified administrator with commercial experience in the Power Generation and Industrial markets.
The person in this role will be responsible for assisting the commercial team with quoting and sales of turbine and generator parts, including but not limited to preparing proposals, negotiating and executing contracts, and interfacing with customers via email, by phone, and in person.
Duties & Responsibilities
include but are not limited to, the following:
- Understand the product lines and technical aspects of the products quoted including any work needed to fulfill the customer’s need.
- Have an awareness of schedule requirements for the shop, customers need, and any prescheduled outages that will impact the timelines of work quoted.
- Be responsible for existing quotes and pending RFQ’s including contacting customers for purchase orders, dates of delivery, and any other outstanding items. Including tracking of lift cycles of jobs through the shop.
- Convert any quotes into jobs in Epicor.
- Have accountability for the commercial email box including tracking correspondence & ensuring the correct contact (internal and external) receive any pertinent information.
- Verify that customer’s credit is in good standing with corporate finance prior to quoting
- Follow set process of referring to proper MSA in all quotes or that MDA standard terms are included with immersive work or any unquoted work.
- Ensuring that all work is executed in accordance with MSA or MDA standard terms including immersive work or any unquoted work.
- Confirm all purchase orders are received and verify the correct MSA referenced including sending acknowledgement and resolving any issues prior to work being completed.
- Responsible for validating pricing on all purchase orders received and resolving any issues prior to work being completed.
- Track and manage customer purchase orders ensuring they are accurate and up to date prior to work being shipped, including communicating with production and engineering to ensure discovery reporting is reflective of work completed.
- Proactively takes ownership of the quote files ensuring that all documents related to quote are complete including any technical and specification documentation.
- Ensure that all converted quotes files are saved as job files and all documents related to the job data are complete including any technical and specification documentation.

- Participate in rotating on-call schedule for afterhours and weekend support of customer emergencies.
- Position is office based but occasional travel is required. (10%)
- Associates degree in engineering, business or related technical field.
- 2-4 years of experience in power generation or industrial industry involving turbine product service or parts preferred.
- 2+ years of commercial experience including developing customer relationships, and customer service.- Excellent written and verbal communication (English)
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret parts drawings.
- Understanding transaction requirements including basic Terms and Conditions.
- Fully capable to learn and utilize MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Infor CRM, Epicor ERP, and ProCAD PLM software.
