Commercial Electrician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, including both commercial and industrial environments. This role requires proficiency in working with various electrical components, including high and low voltage systems, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The Commercial Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) while ensuring safety standards are met on construction sites.

Duties

- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial buildings.

- Troubleshoot electrical issues using hand tools and power tools effectively.

- Conduct tests using an ohmmeter and other diagnostic tools to identify electrical problems.

- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine layout of wiring systems.

- Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.

- Ensure compliance with NEC standards during all electrical installations and repairs.

- Perform renovation tasks that may include frame carpentry as needed for electrical installations.

- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and regulations.

- Must know how to bend piping.

- Works well with others and apprentices.

- Train new electricians.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a Commercial Electrician or Industrial(Plus) Electrician is essential.

- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including high voltage, low voltage, and fire alarm(Plus) applications.

- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.

- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as an ohmmeter tracers and so on.

- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.

- Previous experience on construction sites is preferred; maintenance person experience is also beneficial.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required for this role.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $30.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
