Commercial Driver's License Driver

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating various types of trucks and trailers to ensure the safe and timely delivery of freight across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive driving experience, including handling specialized equipment such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks. A strong focus on safety, route efficiency, and load management is essential for success in this position.

Duties

- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.

- Load and unload freight efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.

- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.

- Manage route driving schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency.

- Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.

- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance reports.

- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly.

- Follow all federal and state transportation laws and company policies during operations.

Qualifications

- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated.

- Experience with truck driving, freight delivery, and route driving preferred.

- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks.

- Experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is a plus.

- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment if necessary.

- Prior experience with forklift operation is advantageous.

- Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling.

- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance.

- Ability to work independently in various weather conditions and adapt to changing schedules. This position offers an opportunity for experienced drivers to utilize their skills in a dynamic environment dedicated to safety and efficiency in freight transportation.

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
