CNG Technician - Field Operator

Position Summary

CORE Natural Gas is seeking a highly motivated CNG Field Operator to support our virtual pipeline operations. This role requires a safety-first mindset, strong mechanical and instrumentation skills, and a commitment to working in dynamic and sometimes demanding field conditions. The ideal candidate will be flexible, dependable, and eager to grow with an innovative and fast-paced company.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CNG compression, PRS units, and manifold systems in compliance with safety and operational protocols

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and diagnostics on CNG systems

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical systems

• Upload/download software and perform system diagnostics

• Conduct daily inspections and keep detailed records per company guidelines

• Maintain clean and organized work areas

• Participate in equipment mobilization, field deployment, and refueling activities

• Respond to operational issues and emergency calls as needed

• Work night shifts, weekends, and in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred

• Class A CDL desired

• Minimum 3 years of experience in oilfield fueling, natural gas services, or related field

• Experience with Tier 2–4 engines and dual-fuel systems a plus

• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and diagnostic tools

• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and handle time-sensitive demands
