Primary Responsibilities:
•Setup, programming and operation of a Haas VM3 CNC machining center using G and M coding.
•Create tool paths in Mastercam software.
•Actively participate in the design and cutting of new tooling, planning and rigging of prototypes and jobs new to the foundry.
•Actively participate with Pattern/Core Box changes when required by customer.
•Ensure new jobs are completed to facilitate due dates.
•Repair/redesign existing tooling to reduce scrap.
•Gate and rig tooling as necessary when time permits.
•Perform daily shop duties, schedule alignment, pattern check in/out duties as needed.
•Maintain appropriate attendance record.
Competencies:
•High School Diploma, HSED, GED or consistent, related work history
•Technical degree in CNC Programming or equivalent experience.
•Experience in MasterCam or equivalent software is required.
•Prior work in pattern making facility is preferred but not required.
•Journeyman pattern maker preferred.
•Must be able to perform practical communication at varying levels throughout company.
•Blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing experience.
•Understanding of basic gate and riser design techniques.
•Will train in foundry/industry specific topics.
•Ability to work in a production/process driven environment.
•Must be able to perform computer operations.
•Must be able to perform complex math computations.
•Must have mechanical aptitude.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.
