CNC Machinist/Programmer Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our team. This role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to cut, shape and finish stone materials. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both hands-on machining and digital programming using CAD/CAM software.
Responsibilities
•Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software
•Interpret CAD drawings, templates, and project specifications to create accurate tool paths.
•Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines for custom stone cutting and finishing.
•Select appropriate tools, feeds, and speeds for different stone types and thicknesses.
•Perform test runs and adjust programs or machine settings to ensure quality and precision.
•Inspect fabricated stone pieces for accuracy, finish, and alignment using measuring tools.
•Maintain documentation of programs and setup instructions for repeat jobs.
•Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines and resolve fabrication challenges.
•Follow all safety protocols, especially when handling heavy stone materials and operating machines and equipment.
Requirements
•3+ years of experience in CNC machine programming and operation.
•Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
•Strong knowledge of tooling, setup procedures, and machining processes.
•Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
•Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
•Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
•Must adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols.
Work Environment
•Fabrication shop setting with heavy stone handling equipment
•Exposure to wet environments, dust, and loud machinery
•Physical work including lifting, standing, and operating machines for extended periods
