The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce high-quality precision parts according to specifications. This role ensures parts meet exact measurements, tolerances, and quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Implement new changes to machine programs, and enter new specifications, using computers.
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including loading materials, selecting and installing tooling, and inputting program instructions.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine job specifications.
- Handling and moving material onto and off the machines.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet specifications, adjusting settings as necessary.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal operation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic machine issues or alert maintenance staff for complex problems.
- Document production runs, completed work, and quality checks.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality control teams to improve processes and output quality.
- Maintain the machines in a clean and operational condition.
- Software knowledge to run the machines such as (HT Ethercad Software, Pronest 2025LT, Microsoft Software - Outlook)
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
- Previous CNC machine operation experience (1–3 years preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficient in the use of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of G-code programming is a plus.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Manufacturing/production floor environment.
- Exposure to machinery, noise, and occasional dust or lubricants.
