TITLE: TRUCK DRIVER REPORTS TO: WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for loading products for shipment, driving, delivering loads, completing paperwork, and general maintenance and clean-up.
KEY RESULTS:1. Safely and efficiently operates and maintains a variety of equipment, which may include: semi- tractors, semi- trailers, pup-trailers, straight trucks, forklift, overhead crane, and various hand tools.
2. Loads trucks, which may include pulling and bundling product and securing loads for shipment, in a safe and efficient manger according to branch procedure.
4. Delivers loads and assists customers with unloading steel orders in a timely manner.
5. Completes accurate, legible paperwork and fills out log books.
6. Complies with DOT, OSHA and branch safety standards for loading and driving trucks.
7. Performs vehicle safety inspections and load checks as required.
8. Maintains and repairs equipment if necessary, when qualified.
9. Secures payments and warehouse, as necessary.
10. Assists other departments with equipment operation and loading, stacking, and storing steel products as necessary, when qualified. May include overhead crane and forklift operation.
11. Advertises for the company when on the road.
12. Daily demonstrates commitment to be present and work all hours assigned as needed.
13. Willingly performs and completes any work assigned in an efficient, safe and productive manner.
14. Cooperates with employees, customers, suppliers and others with honesty, integrity and respectful manner.
15. Willingly complies with all regulatory requirements, including federal, state, local, company and customer statutes or rules.
16. Effectively communicates with management and co-workers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and maximum of 100 pounds occasionally, pushing and pulling up to 80 pounds, gripping, squatting, bending, climbing, standing, reaching when loading and unloading steel products.
Ability to work in varying weather and road conditions with moderate to low levels of noise. May require long work hours (maximum 15 hours on duty and 10 hours driving per day).
QUALIFICATIONS
Appropriate driver’s license and endorsements
Familiarity with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as prescribed by DOT
Excellent customer service skills while assisting customers
Desire to learn practices and methods used in steel warehouse
Attentive and safety conscious
Good work ethic, with high honesty and integrity
