Your Opportunity at SECURE:

We are looking for a Yard Driver to join the team at our Metals Recycling site in Edmonton, Alberta, responsible for day-to-day duties related to metals recycling and rail yard operations.

The Team:

With a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction, our team operates across strategically located facilities in Western Canada, offering a full range of services from recycling and clean-up to demolition and surplus scrap metal marketing.

Work Environment:

This is a full time Monday to Friday position - working 7am to 4pm.

A Day in The Life:

- Skillfully handle and maneuver different types of vehicles and equipment, ensuring their safe operation during loading, transit, and unloading activities

- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines established by SECURE and maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents

- Conduct thorough inspections of all transported materials to verify they match the accompanying documentation and comply with safety and regulatory standards

- Be prepared to maintain a regular weekday schedule while also being available for additional hours as needed to meet operational demands

- Maintain communication with supervisors to optimize flow of the yard.

- Support various operational tasks at the recycling facility as required, including helping with equipment maintenance, organizing materials, and ensuring the overall smooth running of facility processes

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

- Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Experience with shunt truck operations is considered an asset

- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with supervisor, and team members.

- Excellent time management and organizational skills.

- Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading tasks and to perform vehicle inspections.

- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

- Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and following all company protocols.

- Knowledge of waste management and recycling industry practices is a plus.
