Position Description
Responsible for supervising the onsite maintenance activities. This position must ensure compliance with regulatory standards, commitment to Thompson standards. In addition, this position will have oversight of ensuring equipment reliability through good maintenance practices in repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance. This will be completed in a safe and timely manner with the highest quality possible.
Job Responsibilities
•Responsible for directing mechanical crews in their daily activities.
Assist workers when encountering a large problem, and provide instructions on how to remedy it.
•Must be able to effectively explain systems to workers and teach them how to perform complex tasks.
•Evaluate and manage maintenance performance and initiates improvements affecting reliability, availability and efficiency.
•Make technical decisions on repair scopes and operating procedures.
•Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, perform safety meetings and rectify unsafe job conditions immediately.
•Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
•Coach, develop and motivate staff in new technology, standards and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work force.
•Maintain an organized job site.
•Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
•Minimum 5-10 years as a superintendent.
•Must have both a practical understanding of maintenance work and solid communication, organization, and leadership skills.
•Must be proficient using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
•Valid driver’s license is required.
•Solid safety record and OSHA Certifications are preferred though not required.
•Must be at least 18 years of age
•Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively.
•Work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments
•40 or more hours per week with possible weekend work
•Background check and drug screen based on job location/requirement
